Who knew I could sew? I sure didn't. I have the crafting bug! My dear MIL taught me the basics of sewing after I had the sudden urge to make a baby blanket for our little gal. Little babe brings out the mom in me I guess :). I am super excited about all of fun things that I want to make. I have been using her amazing sewing machine for the first few projects because I didn't think the one that was given to me worked. Turns out I just needed to figure out how to use it.
This blanket was seriously the first thing that I have ever sewn. It is minky on one side and cotton the the other. I still need to top stitch around the whole blanket so it is not quite complete.
Here is another blanket I have made her. Its a flannel receiving blanket. I made this blanket with my awesome little sewing machine!
Here is my little sewing machine! I am so happy it works. Now I don't have to wait for a trip to Henefer for my sewing fix.
Now this cute car seat cover is not for my little girl but for another mom and her baby girl. I already have the fabric for mine I just have not made it yet. I wanted to get this one finished and ready for the shower first. You can find the tutorial I used here.
LOVE the bows! Soooo girly.
So don't laugh...but I was in the knitting club in 8th grade! All of the clubs were full so my friends and I decided to join the nerdy knitting club. Best decision ever! I made this little newborn hat in a couple hours. It was really simple and I am almost done with my 2nd one. I also just might have yarn for the next one too :/ haha. Now the bow is kinda special because this bow is a decoration from our reception. My mom made a ton of cute things like this for the reception and I thought it went perfectly with the color. You can find the tutorial I used here.
Like I said I have a ton more projects that I want to make. I'll keep you posted :)
Wow!!!!! You are meant to be a homemaker. My mind is blown....in a good way. Freezer meals, sewing, knitting. Gosh, teach me your skills. I love the bow that matches your reception fabric. I love sentimental things like that! You are going to be one amazing mom.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your sewing machine works! I couldn't figure it out...so I'm glad you could:) Cute things! I'm so excited for you guys!
ReplyDeleteyessssss! sewing projects are so fun to do and to admire! I just a have a basic cheapo machine and I love it. All of your projects are sooo cute! the minky blanket is my favorite- that's a tough material to work with, but oh so worth it in the end! keep them coming, rach! :)
