Out in the Sticks

This weekend Aaron and I went up to the cabin in Henefer!  We left on Thursday after work and stayed till Saturday afternoon.  We had an AWESOME time and did a TON of fun things.  We hiked, shed hunted, went 4-wheeling, shot shotguns at clay pigeons, and got SUPER filthy.  We loved every minute of it.  It was a well needed relaxing weekend.  It was so nice to just spend every second with Aaron and not worry about work or other things.

Kevin, Aaron's dad, made this!  TALENT

Hiking!

The Avalanche (it doesn't look like much but it's VERY deep and VERY dangerous.)

Shooting 12 gauge shotguns at clay pigeons.  Aaron's awesome.

I surprised myself by actually shattering about 10 clay pigeons!

Okay, I just HAD to put this on here.  Look at that form...haha Let's just say I'd better stick to the shooting.  Poor Aaron..I was trying so hard!

Kambree had a blast!

Obviously Riley did too.

We found lots of pretty feathers.

Rachel: 2  Aaron: 1

This little guy scared Aaron half to death.  All he saw was eyes haha.  What a little cutie.

As you can tell it was getting dark so we hiked back to the 4-wheeler and I was the shed hunting queen for the night.  Maybe I should coach Aaron a little :)

While driving home, we drove through Heber and there was this awesome car show in the park.  We just HAD to take a look.  How neat right?

We really had the best time this weekend.  We didn't want it to ever end!  But we're home now and it's back to reality.  I think we will frequent the cabin a lot this summer and many years to come.  Thank you to all who put in all of that hard work and dedication to the cabin.

Time is a Passin'

So today marks the day that Aaron and I have been married for six months and 3 days!  I know, I was going to post on the actual day (the 16th) but didn't have time.  Time flies by.  It seriously doesn't seem like it's been six months.  Aaron and I were talking, and we both think we still have a TON to learn about each other, but that's the fun part.  We're enjoying getting to know each other better and learning new things about each other everyday.  We have done so much together during this short time we've been married.  Here, I'll list a few things.

Moved into a beautiful condo.
Aaron's car broke down :(
Sold Aaron's car.
Bought a Corolla! :)
Went on a trip to Vegas.
Going to Goblin Valley in 2 weeks.
Planning on painting our house.
Going to Bear Lake in July with Aaron's family.
Hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim in August.
Going to Bear Lake in September with my side of the family.
And hopefully going on a cruise in December for our one year anniversary!

We are excited to continue getting to know each other better and being best friends.  I always hear that the first year is just magical..but really it's not all magic.  Marriage is a lot of work but we have loved it.

So I have come across the case of the workout bug.  I love when these little kicks of energy come along.  The real reason I started working out is because we are hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim in August like I mentioned earlier.  We did it two years ago and it was so much fun!  I was in killer shape from cheer leading so I really didn't have a hard time with it.  I decided that if I didn't want to get my butt kicked, I needed to start working out again.  So I broke down and got my first gym membership!  I go to Planet Fitness.  It's only $10 a month so I don't feel like I'm breaking the bank.  I don't go as often as I would like but I do work out at least three times a week (which is much better than before.)  I feel myself getting stronger and I feel more energy.  Why don't I just work out all of the time?  Let's hope I stick with it.  Yay for Planet Fitness!

DMV

Well you wouldn't believe it, but I have yet to officially change my last name to Beenfield.  I guess it was just the awful hassle of having to get a new social, go to the DMV, get a new license, change it on the insurance, change it with the bank, at school...you get the point. People usually grimace at the thought of the DMV right?  Well here I am...dreading walking into the stinky place only to wait in line and get pushed around by the employees who really don't care if you don't have TWO pieces of mail to prove your residency.  Oh, and let me also complain about their hours.  Open Monday-Friday 9-5 Closed Saturdays and Sundays.  Well I work 8-5 Monday-Friday.  You either have to take the day off or use your hour lunch break and risk clocking in on time.  Let's face it, you're not going to get through the DMV in an hour.  So last week I got off an hour early to finally get this thing over with.  Well guess what?  I didn't have everything I needed so I waited in line for nothing.  Bad experience.  Yesterday Aaron and I went together during my hour lunch break.  We were sure to bring absolutely everything you need and MORE.  We were NOT getting turned away this time around.  So I had the paper work already filled out and ready to go so I passed everyone who was filling out their paper work and jumped in line.  In no time at all I was greeted by a a friendly employee.  The two pieces of mail I brought were both pay stubs.  She was happy to find out that I work at doTERRA.  She says, "Oh, you mean...(pulling peppermint beadlets out of her pocket) this doTERRA!"  What a nice lady.  She took my picture and sent me on my way with my waiting number.  We only waited about 5 minutes until our number was called.  We hurried to our line and made sure everything was correct for the license, took the eye exam, and talked to the lady about her job.  Wow, in and out in a matter of 20 minutes?!  Why have I waited so long to do this?  We even had time to go get a pizza and eat it out on the grass in front of doTERRA.  What a lovely lunch break.
